Summer's Welcome

The sun's heat upon my skin
The cooling of the breeze
The light all around me
Smell of the bright green grass
The feel of the fresh air blowing through my hair

The smell of the new flowers
Many bright neon colors
The hum of the bees in the Crate Mertal trees
Flower blossoms falling from the trees like snow
Warmth in my heart

Summer is here
In all of its glory
Time to swim
Be with friends
Relaxation

To be able to lay out in the sun
To feel summer's welcome on our doorstep
The feel of the bright green grass in my fingers
Birds chirping in the trees
The feel of the sweet breeze through my hair

No more finals
No more studying
No more school work
No more teachers
No more stress

Have my own dress code back
My own rules
Summer fun at my beck and call
To be with my friends
Without it being a school night

Relaxation time
Sleeping in again
Waking up late to the sun shining through my shades
The warmth of the sun on my cheek
Another day of doing nothing
